2020 Kawasaki Ninja 250 has been introduced in its home market alongside the new Ninja 400, the new quarter-litre motorcycle offers 37 PS of maximum power Recently, the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 400 was introduced in Japan. However, our focus here is on another motorcycle that was launched alongside the aforementioned model. Called simply the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 250, the quarter-litre supersports contender has been priced at JPY 6,42,600 (Rs 4.19 lakh) and is available even in a KRT Edition guise. The new model is produced in Thailand and will be available to buyers from next month. The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 250 gets a slew of cosmetic updates for a freshened-up look but carries overall its mechanicals from the outgoing version. Like its 400cc sibling, the Ninja 250 is available in ‘Metallic Spark Black/Metallic Matte Graphite Grey’ and ‘Pearl Blizzard White/Metallic Spark Black’ paint options. The KRT Edition of the Ninja 250 looks the same as the KRT Edition of the Ninja 400, with the only disparities rising from new decals and a different end-can. Powering the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 250 is a 248cc, parallel-twin, DOHC engine that benefits from fuel injection and liquid cooling. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed transmission. It outputs a maximum power of 37 PS and a peak torque of 23 Nm. Ninja 300, on the other hand, offers 39 PS and 27 Nm.

China's Geely makes inroads into Japanese electric taxi market


TOKYO - Chinese automaker Geely's subsidiary London EV Company (LEVC) brought the electric version of its iconic black cabs to Tokyo on Friday, aiming to help promote green public transportation in Japan.

According to LEVC's introduction, the latest TX model is powered by an electric engine and has a total range of about 600 km. Of these, more than 100 km are actually covered electrically, for the remainder of the range, an internal combustion engine recharges the battery.

Following the iconic look of London cabs, the LEVC's electric taxi has a large square intake grille, a wide, square-shaped body and a side-by-side door for passengers to get on and off easily.

Toyota RAV4 Is 2019-2020 Japan Car Of The Year


25 years after creating a new segment – the modern SUV – almost overnight, the Toyota RAV4 has been voted as Japan Car of the Year 2019-2020. Announced this afternoon, the fifth generation of the popular SUV beat 9 other finalists in the annual event.

The jury this year consisted of 60 members, largely made up of motoring journalists based in Japan.

According to jury for the Japan Car of the Year (COTY), the RAV4 meets consumer needs of today as an SUV of the new era. In addition, the reasonable price of the Data Communication Module (a dedicated communication device) was commended.

“The combination of powertrains such as 3 types of AWD systems and the latest platform is both comfortable and enjoyable. The luggage space is wide and easy to use,” the jury’s statement added.
